Ten Years

Today marks my 10th anniversary in the Holy Ministry. I was ordained this day at University Lutheran Chapel in Tuscaloosa, Alabama..

Then as it was, then again it will be
An’ though the course may change sometimes
Rivers always reach the sea
Blind stars of fortune, each have several rays
On the wings of maybe, down in birds of prey
Kind of makes me feel sometimes, didn’t have to grow
But as the eagle leaves the nest, it’s got so far to go

Here’s the music to the song above. It doesn’t have anything to do with the Holy Ministry. I just like it.

Praise God for the 10 years in the Holy Ministry He has given you, my love! I know it’s hard to see through the trees most days, but in these last 10 years you have baptized many, married many, counseled many, comforted many and buried many. This week alone, 5 children will become part of God’s family by your hand! I am proud of you, and glad you take up your cross and serve our Savior as a Pastor.

P.S. Even after 10 years, I can’t believe God “tricked” me into marrying a Pastor! But I’m glad I did, even if this square peg doesn’t always fit that round hole. Thanks for always helping me figure out where I fit in all this, too.

  2. Congratulations on your ten year anniversary Pastor Hall! A blessing indeed to be the Lord’s undershepherd and feed the sheep with His Word and Sacrament.

We lived in Tuscaloosa around 1992-3. Our son Zach was born there. It was a good place to live, in amongst the Baptists!

    1. Thank you! It’s gone by fast. Roll Tide!
