Grandma was in Color Too

It is always somehow jarring to see images from so long ago in full color. Somehow we imagine that everything was in black and white back then.

Here’s one of the earliest color films you will ever see, over ten years before Wizard of Oz. (Gizmodo)

   What surprises me the most about this is the lighting, soft and beautiful, more like still photographs from the early 80′s, never have I seen movie lighting like this from this era. I would love to know how it was lit.
