New Ambitious Goal!
I’ve got a hankering to update this blog daily. Some of the posts may be short or sometimes it may just be a link to another site, but I’m doing it and plan to keep it up as long as possible. On that note, too, how’s the new format working for you? Do you like it? Is it distracting or annoying? What other changes would you like to see here? … Read entire article »

All Fixed Now
Thanks to the friendly people at my hosting site, I was able to fix the problems with blog. I won’t go into the nitty-gritty details here, but let’s just say it was a rogue .htaccess file and some unruly permalinks. If that makes sense to you, then you probably know more than I do. If you have links to any particular webpage of mine that you know of, you may want to double-check that and make sure it still links to the proper page. Thanks, Your Friendly Neighborhood Blog Admin Guy … Read entire article »
Winding Down and Poll Question
Midweek is officially over now, and the choirs gave their Ascension Day Concert, which was absolutely lovely. To brag on my wife: the Jubilate Choir (children) are fantastic! That group of singers has blossomed under her direction. I’ve got a talented and beautiful bride, that’s for sure. It’s hard to believe that as anxious as I am for all the activities to end, in a few short weeks I’ll be chomping at the bit to start again, looking forward to the beginning of the new school year, to the choirs and classes here and so forth. One thing that I don’t intend to wind down on is blogging here, though at last check maybe it already has! I know I’ve been writing this for the last six months, but I hope to … Read entire article »
Things I Do to Stay out of Trouble
Apparently my Easter sabbatical needs to be over. A couple of people I had no idea read this asked me what was happening here and when I would post again. I guess I have six readers instead of the four I thought I had. But their remarks got me thinking about the blog. It’s gone through quite a few changes since I started it. From obscurity to almost-obscurity, from WordPress to Blogger and back to WordPress–and back to being a pretty quiet corner on the ‘net. For a time I was working hard to make it more popular, and it worked when I posted controversial things, but I found it juvenile to chase ratings and hits, so I stopped. Readers left, too. Ce la vie. So where is it going now? What … Read entire article »

Feeds Working…Except for Google
It seems that Google Reader is trying to find an old version of the feed when you add it directly from there. Works fine if you use the subscribe button on the right side. I did have a problem with one post, but I think that’s corrected. Again, if you are having problems updating your feed, please try adding it through this site, not from your feed reader directly. That is working perfectly for all major readers. … Read entire article »

Having Feed Issues?
One of my readers notified me of some feed issues with the blog. I did a lot of back-end maintenance and reconfiguring a few nights ago, and some of the feed readers are not picking up the correct feed. Until I get this sorted out, the best way to subscribe to the blog via its feed is to click the icon on the upper right sidebar. It will then let you choose your preferred reader. Sorry for the inconvenience! I’ll try to get it sorted out today. … Read entire article »

The Other Stuff Continues, Too
Just a reminder…though I’ve added the “Saying of the Day,” this is still the place to find my jejune observations on items of disinterest. … Read entire article »

A Thank You
I realized today that this blog has surpassed the 16,000 visitors mark. This is a small number for many, but I think it’s astounding! I began this blog mostly for myself and for my members. That so many visit from all over the country is humbling. There have been many more visits the last few weeks as well, and I want to thank all of you for visiting here. But I do have a couple of favors to ask of all of you: 1. Leave a comment and let me know who you are, and how you found this. 2. If you have a blog, let me know, and I will happily link to it, as appropriate–”Hail Satan Blogs” will not be linked 3. Do … Read entire article »
