During discussion of Romans 5 and the contrast between the First Adam and the Second Adam, one of the members was blown away at the “design” of our salvation. It’s typology, and she was impressed. The discussion continued and I thought of the perfect analogy of God’s “Deep Magic” as C.S. Part Three will offer my analysis and commentary on the good, bad and ugly of the [...] This is just a note to say that my second post regarding the Restructuring Presentation will be delayed a day or two as I get ready for Ash Wednesday along with meetings and other appointments. Part One: A Summary of the Event I’m back from the BRTFSSG Regional Gathering. That’s “Blue Ribbon Task Force on Synod Structure and Governance.” As you no doubt figured out, live blogging wasn’t an option. They didn’t provide power in the Hall and I had trouble trying to connect to the ‘net. Sigh. Ed Sutter, a friend of a member here, went missing Sunday morning. He left for his church at 9:30 and never showed up there, nor back at his home. At 88 and in poor health, his friends and family were very worried about him. I’m heading to Dallas this weekend for the regional Pre-Convention gathering of delegates. The purpose of this is to be briefed on the restructuring proposals that the LCMS will be voting on this Summer. No, I’m not a delegate to the Convention, but as 3rd VP of the Oklahoma District, my District President asked me [...] It has been quiet around here because things haven’t been quiet elsewhere. We had a lovely white Christmas, apart from the high winds and blowing snow and canceled Christmas Eve service. Sigh. I hated to do that, but it was very dangerous around 4 pm.
